On a total return basis, the bond market is still tracking one of its worst years on record. The 2-year note is tracking a total return loss for the first time ever. Commodities are having one of their best total return years in history and at new all-time highs. These are the market moves one would expect if persistent inflation was becoming a bigger concern.
